Inkululeko works hand in hand with South African township youth and we know the educational challenges that students face every day in order to reach academic excellence.
With the necessary support and guidance, we believe these students are capable of attaining academic growth and achievement, such as passing the Matric exam and attending and thriving in university.
Inkululeko has taken action by providing South African students access to the essential tools needed in order to succeed. We have even launched a program specifically catering to preparing students for the Matric exam called The Matric Project. The Matric Project consists of our dedicated colleagues actively tutoring and mentoring students in the 12th grade. By guiding learners and reinforcing the desire for knowledge, we have been able to empower South African students to pass at a higher rate.
300,000+
In an environment where educational opportunity is scarce, Inkululeko strives to expand the academic horizon for South African township youth. A 2017 international survey revealed that 75% of children age 9 cannot read for meaning. This is as high as 91% in provinces like Limpopo and 85% in the Eastern Cape. Additionally, did you know that the top 200 schools in South Africa, achieve more academically than the next 6,600 combined? At Inkululeko, we aspire to narrow this gap and provide freedom and equal opportunity for all South African students.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, South African students have faced an additional barrier. The lack of internet access has halted the education of countless students as they cannot attend remote learning classes.

HAVE
Inkululeko has made strides in order to deliver the essentaial support to students affected by the global pandemic. We have supplied students with laptops and mobile data for online learning. This was imperative for our tutors to stay in touch with students in our Matric program through these trying times.
